Rhubarb Crumble

rhubarb crumble

My husband Paul loves stewed Rhubarb, so I decided to adapt the traditional Apple crumble recipe to Rhubarb crumble.  He loves it and so does my son in law Adam.  Adam wonders why I hid the recipe from him for so long!!

Note from Aileen

My mother used to make a version of this and so do I. She used to trick us when we were kids & didn’t like the taste of rhubarb. Gram would stew some strawberries with the rhubarb, the rhubarb would take on the taste of the strawberries and we would happily eat the crumble!

This recipe is from a friend I met in Moranbah.  Her daughter Lisa and my daughter Kate were best friends at primary school and we became friends as a result.  I don’t know where she got this recipe from, but it is absolutely delicious.  Thanks Sally.

This is one of mums recipes. Mum gets recipes from many sources.  She is always willing to try a new recipe and is always just as keen to get your opinion on her “new” recipe.  This is one of those and I really liked it – but I do love dates!!

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

This is a favourite of my children and they are now making this for their own children.  Well Kate is anyway. Hannah makes it for herself and Ben.  Oh forgot to say this recipe is from the Family Circle step by step Kid’s Cookbook 2. (slightly adapted!)

When I was busy with young children, I was always looking for shortcuts for recipes and this is a recipe from my Mother in Law that I made a few changes to so it was faster to cook for the hungry horde.

Cobb Loaf Dip with Bacon & Cheese

This is another variation of the good old cobb loaf dip.  I am not sure where this one came from, but it’s just as yummy as the other cobb loaf dips

Cobb Loaf Dip with Spinach.
