Cobb Loaf Dip

Stolen from someone who stole it from someone else.  Actually I think this recipe came from a teacher I used to work with in another lifetime!!  There are several other fillings you can substitute which are all yummy as well.

Mushroom Risotto

Source & History

This was in the book that came with my first-ever rice cooker. By the way, rice cookers are one of the best inventions ever. It has become rather a favourite around here. And yes, it is cooked in the rice cooker.

  • I just use fresh button mushrooms for this but I would imagine that it would be just a good with some of the other varieties of mushrooms that you can get in the supermarket these days.
  • I sometimes make this with regular Doongara rice (the low GI stuff) instead of Arborio rice.

Scones (Easy Never Fail)

A dear old friend of mine gave me this recipe and I haven’t had a failure with it yet.  It’s great because you can always have a carton of long life cream and a can of Lemonade in the pantry.  An easy one to whip up for unexpected visitors.

Chicken Korma

Chicken Korma

This is a recipe I stole from a friend of mine.  I am not sure where she stole it from!!  She made it for us at a time of crisis and we really appreciated her kindness.

Mince with Noodles

Mince with Noodles

This is a recipe I discovered when I was involved with Nursing Mothers.  Nursing Mothers produced some excellent recipe books and this is my adaptation of one of those recipes.  It’s great because you can adapt it to suit the tastes of your family.  It’s also good to get rid of all those odd vegies in your fridge that need using up.
